Welcome to the Humane Society of Warren County, Virginia

COVID - 19 STATEMENT

Humane Society of Warren County has decided to operate on an appointment basis only for both intakes and adoptions.

Our main focus is the health and wellness of our staff, the animals in our care and the community.

If you are interested in adopting an animal, please fill out an application and a staff member will contact you to set an appointment for a meet and greet.

HSWC continues to practice strict cleaning and sanitation policies.

HSWC is checking updates and guidelines from several organizations including the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organization for Animal Health.

We will not be accepting donations of any used bedding at this time.

To our shelter volunteers – please call before coming to the shelter.
Petco cleaning volunteers – if you are feeling unwell, please let us know and someone will clean kennels for you.

If anyone is in need of Hand in Paw in case of a pet emergency or assistance with pet food, please call us at 540-635-4734.

Our vision is to be part of a community where every pet is a wanted pet.

The Humane Society of Warren County is a non-profit animal shelter in Front Royal, Virginia.  Established in 1947, we have been a safe haven to the lost, abandoned and abused pets in Warren County for over 70 years.  In 2012 we achieved no-kill status, and are proud to maintain it.  You can expect an inviting and welcoming atmosphere when you visit the shelter, and compassionate care for our animals.

We have many community minded programs designed to educate and support our neighbors, including a free pet food bank, a low-cost spay/neuter program, and twice yearly rabies clinics at the shelter.

We are a passionate group of employees, volunteers and fosters working hard to achieve a future where every pet is a wanted pet.

Mission Statement:  The Humane Society of Warren County is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate care to abandoned, abused, homeless and neglected animals in our community. We aim to educate pet owners on the importance of vaccinations and population control and to place adoptable pets in loving homes.

Last time I posted Sparky I called him a grumpy old man! As it turns out his foster did a lot better job socializing him than i could have imagined.

He is still an old man, but a lot less grumpy. He just needs to take his time with new people and new places.

Give him a chance!
